Brinkley is a small village in Cambridgeshire close to the Suffolk border. The village has a population of 300 and is a great place to live in and make friends with a community feel.

Local Government reorganisation consultation

Make sure you have your say. We have days to tell government whether we see our future with Cambridge or Peterborough. Our two councils, East Cambridgeshire District and Cambridgeshire County are due to be replaced by a new authority. The geography of that authority is yet to be decided. There are two ways to find out more: 1. Visit the governments consultation and complete the survey. 2. Come to one of the public events set up by the combined parishes of Bottisham, Burwell and Woodditton wards. Avian Flu

There has been a confirmed case of avian influenza at a premises near Ely on 27th November 2025, As a result additional rules now apply to bird keepers in this area. Whilst Brinkley Parish Council is not aware of any cases in this Parish, we still urge our bird-breeding and pet-owning parishioners to remain vigilant. Kingsway Solar Farm

Kingsway Solar is a proposed solar farm and battery storage project to be located on parcels of land around the areas of Balsham, West Wratting Weston Colville, and Weston Green in Cambridgeshire. Kingsway Solar would have the potential to supply around 500 Megawatts (MW) of electricity to the national grid. It will also include an approximate 14km Grid Connection to National Grid’s planned Burwell South substation, to be located to the south of the existing substation at Burwell.
